The Global Quality Assurance Association (GQAA) is an international organization which seeks to always be abreast with the contemporary issues and contexts at all levels in order to remain an ever transforming and relevant entity. It also seeks to use diverse ways to reach out to people and offer its quality assurance services to the wider global community, geographical and virtually. It is against this background that the GQAA offers physical and online education, awareness and capacity building through some short courses. The GQAA operates at all levels which are continental, regional, national and institutional/organizational/company/government departments/ministries/authorities, etc.
The online workshops/short courses are very useful in supporting;
i) early carriers who are in most cases “thrown at the deep end of their jobs” without proper induction
ii) unfortunate students who failed to get good education at undergraduate but are still willing to continue with postgraduate studies
iii) personnel who passed through flawed education and training systems
iv) they are also very convenient for people who want flexible lifelong learning, upscaling and re-tooling in the comfort of their work, families and homes.
v) the online mode is cost effective
vi) this mode offers opportunities for participants to meet and network with people from different parts of the world at once, something that would be expensive, difficult to occur in a physical space regularly.
vii) this mode makes it possible to give rich materials with recorded conversations for participants to revisit any time they want.
viii) The mode is also cost effective since there are no travelling, accommodation and food expenses
ix) The mode normally saves time since there is no need to move to any official venue to attend the sessions
The Global Quality Assurance Association (GQAA) will from June 1, 2023, organize online workshops that are aimed at equipping participants with knowledge and skills on effective resource mobilization, research methods, academic writing skills, supervision and marking of dissertations and theses and writing of Postgraduate/Masters/PhD proposals. The online short courses will also give participants insights on supervision and marking of a master’s dissertation and /or PhD thesis as well as the writing of grant winning research and project proposals. All the short courses will have a quality assurance component embedded in the training. There will also be a standalone quality assurance in higher education course which will cover a wide range of topics.
Registration and Facilitation
The detailed structures of the individual short courses are contained in the flyers. Each session is 2 hours long and offered as outlined in the flyers or as agreed by the participants and facilitators when they meet on the first day. All sessions will be conducted via a ZOOM platform with a recurring link. This means that once a link is shared it will be used throughout the course of that workshop. Below are the different registration links to express interest.
