To celebrate this year’s World Quality Week themed ‘Rethinking Quality for Transformation,’
the Global Quality Assurance Association (GQAA) and the Ghana Tertiary Education
Commission (GTEC) organized a two-day event from the 10th to the 11th of November 2025. The
event came in two parts, having the first day as an online activity in the form of a free webinar
and the second day being a physical event at the GTEC Auditorium, East Legon, Accra. The
collaboration between the GQAA and GTEC brought together people from all sectors and
working spaces. Delegates came together with a common goal of upholding and improving
quality standards at the workplaces and homes, as well as in product manufacturing and service
delivery.
The 2-day event consisted of panel discussions with seasoned speakers carrying years of
experience in their respective fields of work and keynote speakers who made information-rich
presentations and remarks. Vice Chancellors, Chief Executive Officers, Heads, Directors,
College Principals, Founders and Co-Founders were part of the panelists, keynote speakers and
attendees, proving the importance of Quality and Quality Assurance Practices. The World
Quality Week celebrations saw representation from institutions and organizations such as Food
and Drugs Authority (FDA), Ghana TVET Service, ESDEV Foundation Africa, Commission for
TVET, Accra Metropolitan University, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology
(KNUST), West African Examinations Council (WAEC), Go Compliance Solutions and Tamale
College of Education, just to mention but a few.
Day one consisted of a free webinar which had Mr. Yaw Nsarkoh as the keynote speaker and
three panelists namely Professor Goski Alabi (Ag. Vice Chancellor, Accra Metropolitan
University), Peter Dadson, the Deputy Registrar of KNUST, Dr. Kwadwo Addo and Engr. Dr
Uche Ogbuefi from Nigeria. The topic focused on different cross sector perspectives on
innovation, integrity and impact in quality and quality assurance terms. With over 80 people
joining the free webinar from across the world, the key takeaway from the session was the need
to uphold quality standards and enforce them on a day-to-day basis in our respective workplaces
for effective and cost cutting results.
Day two was the physical presence event held at the GTEC Auditorium, East Legon, Accra. A
keynote address and a powerful presentation from Dr. Sarah A. Lutterodt and two successful
panel discussions were the highlights of the day. The audience gained a lot of knowledge from
sharing quality and quality assurance related issues and case studies from different worlds of
work. The panel discussions were not limited to the speakers only, but the delegates participated
and shared their own experiences and interventions too.
